Robert is a native of Norfolk, Virginia. He attended school in Norfolk then went on to receive and BA from the University of Virginia. He then served in the US Army Reserves and attended law school at the Marshall Wythe School of Law at the College of William and Mary. He is member of the Virginia State Bar and has served on state bar committees. He served as Chair of the Virginia Public School Authority for eight years. Robert has served on numerous other committees and been an active investor and officer of several businesses. He practices law in Abingdon, Virginia. He is married to Audrey Copeland, has two children and four grandchildren.

Sylvia came SWVA for college but the mountains stole her heart and she made Abingdon home. She has lived in SWVA for ten years and has served the the community through financial planning. She love sports and when not working you can find her watching just about any event. She is thankful for the opportunity to be on the board and continue to serve the community through the Bristol Crisis Center, a great organization.

Audrey was born and raised in Appalachia and East Tennessee is where she calls home. She is a graduate of East Tennessee State University where she received both her bachelors and masters in social work. Audrey says "If I could identify one word that describes me, that word would be service." She has a great passion for our community and through her experience in helping others, she aspires to discover ways to leave an everlasting, positive impact on the place she calls home. She currently works at Center for Hope: Treatment for Attachment and Trauma where she is managing partner and an outpatient mental health therapist. She has a specific passion for the underserved populations within our community and finds both joy and purpose in creating new ways to give back. Audrey is a torchbearer for the community goal focused on designing a brighter future for our great region through investment in our people.
